LANDLORDS in Leyland continue to unite with police in a bid to deter trouble makers.
The Broadfield Arms and Dunkirk Hall have joined the Pubwatch scheme, which began in May.
Landlord Bob Parker, 54, of the Crofters, Leyland Lane, is also a member of the scheme.
He contacted police after he was assaulted on the premises in July. The offender has been banned.
PS Neil Sladen of Leyland police said: "The strength of the Pubwatch scheme is such that all the licensees now know the man is and can ensure he doesn't enter their premises."
The scheme aims to reduce drunken, disorderly, violent and quarrelsome behaviour in and around Leyland.
Mr Parker, who has been in the trade for 21 years, has been landlord at the Crofters for nine of those.
He said: "I've never had any trouble before. This is a good pub. I want my regulars to feel comfortable when they have a drink and not to feel threatened when they go home.
"This scheme can put a few minds at rest."
Pubwatch hopes to expand further in coming months.
