RAIL passengers are in for more disruption as First North Western drivers plan a further two consecutive days of industrial action from Tuesday, August 27.
The walkout by ASLEF members is over pay and talks between union bosses and First North Western chiefs are ongoing to resolve the issue.
A First North Western spokesman said: "An agreement was made and signed by both parties on July 26 to give drivers a 19 per cent pay increase over three years.
"This deal was based on a number of productivity items that were all focused on improving train performance and did not consist of any kind of work that drivers don't currently undertake."
But ASLEF said they received a document on Monday August 5, outlining new proposals, which they say they had not seen before.
One of the proposals was that drivers be made responsible for picking up litter at train stations.
ASLEF general secretary, Mick Rix, condemned the company saying that they had reneged on the agreement.
