A BRAND new nightclub is set to open in Preston in a matter of weeks.
The Marquee, formerly The Mill and Club Sugar, in Aqueduct Street, is re-opening under new ownership next month.
The club will concentrate on live music, from far and wide, and one act already confirmed are sixties legends The Animals.
The Marquee is due to open on September 6, and will then host live music on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
THE latest offering from the Feast of Jazz music organisers is a concert by Martin Bennett's New Orleans Jazz Quintet.
The band will be playing at Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club on Lightfoot Lane, Preston, on Sunday, August 18. Tickets are £4 on the door.

PRESTON Arts Association's special Golden Jubilee Festival begins on Monday, September 9.
The five-day event is bringing poetry readings, arts exhibitions and live music to the city.
The first events will be a free exhibition at St Peter's Arts Centre, Fylde Road, Preston, and free poetry readings at the Muse caf bar, Lune Street.

The Prince's Trust Sound Live scheme is offering a six-day residential course to youths aged between 18 and 25.
