WEIRD and wonderful food cravings during pregnancy are continuing to flabbergast researchers.
Food company Cow & Gate surveyed 120 expectant mums, some of whom confessed to outlandish desires including strawberries covered in Marmite; mayonnaise, gherkin and jam sandwiches; cheese and white chocolate on toast; Coca-Cola on Weetabix for breakfast and licking muddy potatoes.
The survey found chocolate and ice cream were still the favourite cravings during pregnancy, but fish-based products, pickled onions and cheese were close runners up.
