A WOMAN who suffered severe head injuries in an alleged attack at her home has died in hospital.
Mandy Burton, 30, of Moorgate Street, Mill Hill, Blackburn, died at the Royal Preston Hospital last night. Her family were at her bedside.
Police today confirmed they were now treating the incident as a murder investigation.
Her partner, Louise Berry, 18, was charged with wounding yesterday and is due to appear before Blackburn magistrates tomorrow.
A police spokesman said: "Mandy Burton died in hospital last night and the investigation into the incident has now become a murder inquiry.
"We anticipate further charges will be brought in the near future."
Mandy, a mother-of-two, was found injured on Sunday evening.
