DARWEN Dashers are promoting the Darwen Gala Fell Race on Saturday. Starting at 2.30pm from Bold Venture Park, it is four miles, with 850 feet of ascent to Darwen Tower. All finishers win a T-shirt.
The Europrint 10K is Blackburn Road Runners' flagship event. Taking place on Sunday at Witton Park, the main race starts at 11am, with a two mile Fun Run within the boundaries of the park at 10:15am. The 10K route has been amended to use more of the park and less main road.
The Weets Fell Race on Sunday is the final event in the Pendle and Burnley Grand Prix. The 6M/800 ft race starts at the Rolls Royce Sports and Social Club at Barnoldswick at 11.30am. If the Barley Fell Race, postponed in June, is re-scheduled, it will not count in the Grand Prix.
The Sedbergh Hills Fell Race is the fifth round of the English Fell Championship. Starting at noon on Sunday, it is 14 miles long with 6,000 feet of climb. Start is at the People's Hall, Howgill Lane, Sedbergh.
The Birchwood 10K takes place on Sunday from The Silver Birch, Dewhurst Road, Birchwood, Warrington. Main race is at 10.30am, with a one mile fun run at 9.45am.
Track and Field athletes should note that the East Lancs Challenge Trophy has been cancelled. It had been due to take place at Burnley's Barden Track on Sunday.
The Golf Ball Fell Race is the final event in the Rossendale Midweek Series. The Wednesday night race starts from the White Horse, Holcombe Road, Helmshore near Haslingden at 7.15pm. It is six miles and includes 1,000 feet of climb.
The last of four Harrock Hill Races is on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Five miles, it includes 900 feet of climb, the venue is the Farmers Arms at Bispham.
