VILLAGE volunteers "saved" the day for Ainsworth Football Club.
The Ainsworth Village Task Force was happy to help when the team needed a new kit.
Thanks to the £2,000 raised from last year's Village Day, the Force, which is made up of community volunteers was able to sponsor a new kit for the soccer team.
Pictured showing off their new look are team members and representatives from Ainsworth Village Task Force.
A local nursery and school also benefited from the proceeds, as did the old folk of the village who were treated to a Christmas party.
The Task Force has organised another Village Day for this Saturday (Aug 17) beginning at 12.30pm on the village green. The entertainment will include a pie-eating competition, a tug-o'-war contest, a variety of stalls, food and drink and games including a coconut shy, bran tub, bat the rat and stocks.
The day will end with a feast of fireworks, plus live entertainment and disco.
