BUSINESSES in Bury which have joined the Internet revolution are being urged to enter their web site in a bid to win a coveted award.
They are being invited to take part in the annual Big Chip Awards for excellence in e-business which will take place on November 14 at the Imperial War Museum at Salford Quays.
The involvement of both the Government and some of the biggest names in the digital sector in the North West and across the UK will make this year's event the best and most significant yet, say new organisers Manchester Digital (MD).
MD announces it has secured Andrew Pinder, the Government Cabinet Office e-envoy, as the guest of honour. He will hand out the awards and will use the occasion to make a speech to the gathered forces of the North West e-business sector about Government support for digital technology.
Compere for the black tie event, which includes reception, four-course meal and post awards entertainment, is broadcaster and Interactive City founder Anthony Wilson.
There are eight awards within this year's event. Tickets cost £60 each.
Entries can be submitted free on line either at www.bigchipawards.com or www.manchesterdigital.com and the deadline for entries is October 7.
