BURY-based Pennine Telecom has supplied staff with radio equipment at Manchester's stunning new £30 million Urbis Museum landmark.
And the move will help ensure operations run smoothly, so that visitors to the museum have an enjoyable, exciting and inspiring experience.
Urbis is dedicated to creating new perspectives on urban life and embraces four cascading, themed floors of permanent interactive displays and exhibits outlining life in the world's cities.
The infrastructure needed to make such an innovative museum run smoothly relies on good communication and Pennine, located in Salford Street, was called in to provide a radio system. Gallery staff, stewards, security, reception, facilities and technical services, duty manager and duty cleaners use 20 Motorola
hand portables.
"We operate a two-channel system, one front of house and the other back of house" says Steve Peat, the facilities services manager at Urbis.
"We are very happy with the system. It meets all expectations, both operational and for the safety of staff and visitors. The installation was carried out in Pennine' usual fast, safe and professional manner."
He added: "Pennine are existing suppliers with whom I have a successful relationship through the MEN Arena."
