A GOLFING experience with more than a hint of rugby league will take place on Friday, September 13.
Leigh RLFC Past Players Association will benefit from a golf day for 18 teams being staged at Great Lever and Farnworth Golf Club.
Organiser is ex-Leigh player Allan Rowley whose Leigh-based company Rowley Sports Management Limited is staging the event free of charge. Cost is £30 per head with any surplus going to the past players' organisation.
Allan explained how the event came about: "Following a very successful 1981 reunion party, keen golfer and championship winning side favourite Tony Cooke negotiated a brilliant package on behalf of the ex-players. We are limiting teams to 18 so we all start and eat together and have a few beers later."
Tee-off time is 1.30pm with soup and sandwiches in the clubhouse from noon.
Details from Allan on 01942 686402/686401 or fax 01942 261750.
