AFTER an opening day to forget, Clarets skipper Steve Davis is determined to make the visit to Wolves one to remember.
"We know we have got a poor record record against Wolves and if we can get a result it will be a great day for the fans," he said.
Davis accepts that manager Stan Ternent was right to condemn his players for the display against Brighton and he said: "We have taken what he said on board.
"None of the players slept well after last week's game because we were all turning it over in our minds but I still believe that if we had got the first goal we would have won it.
"Everyone was disappointed because the first day of any season is a massive one. There is a lot of anticipation, we all wanted to do well but the way things turned out it is one we want to forget.
"Tomorrow is another day and it offers us a chance to put right what went wrong last weekend."
And getting some early points on the board will be vital if the Clarets are to follow up the success they have had in the last two seasons.
"We have finished seventh twice and that is because we got off to a good start both times, especially last season when we won seven out of our first eight games," he admitted.
"But even though it will be a tough game at Molineux I think it is a good one for us to have. They won in midweek but we will look forward to playing in a good stadium on a good pitch with a big crowd.
"We did not have a League game this week but the manager sorted out a match against Everton and that has been beneficial to the lads. We had a good 90 minutes against a lot of good players and it was a lovely place to play.
"But none of that will matter unless we can turn in a good performance against Wolves and that is what we are determined to do. "We have put last week down to having a bad day at the office, now we want to have a good one."
Last Saturday was a particularly bad day at the office for Davis's defensive partner Arthur Gnohere. He was shown a red card after an alleged butt on Seagulls' striker Gary Hart and after Ternent failed to find video evidence to clear him, the French defender will pay the price.
"I have looked at two videos and neither have the incident on it," explained Ternent. "The referee has reported him for violent conduct and he will be banned for three matches.
"I will be taking action against Arthur and that is normal procedure. He will be fined and what have you but that is an internal matter."
