A SIX-year-old boy was fighting for his life today after it appeared he rode his scooter into the road.
Mahir Gazali, of Kenton, Middlesex, was struck by a car at 7.35pm yesterday in Furness Avenue, Blackburn, and fractured his skull in four places.
He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary before being transferred to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury, where his condition was today described as critical but stable.
A police spokesman said: "It would appear that a six year old child exiting from a back street on a child's scooter, following two children who had exited there, collided with the front off side of a vehicle."
