THE Leigh branch of the Royal British Legion is under threat after only two members attended the last monthly meeting.

The president has appealed for as many as possible to attend a special gathering at Leigh Conservative Club next month to discuss the future of the branch.

Obviously many of the old war heroes will not be fit enough to attend, but surely some younger servicemen could help save the organisation in Leigh, and in the long run aid themselves.

If the branch goes the welfare side of the group will also vanish to Warrington.

There seems to be plenty members willing to display their medals when it comes to the Remembrance Day parade. Where are they when they are needed? Come on you 'orrible lot give the lads fighting to save the organisation a helping hand.
