IT'S hard to believe that it is 25 years on Friday since Elvis left the earthly building.

There are programmes and concerts galore scheduled this week to celebrate the life of the first great superstar.

As a big fan my video will be red hot recording snips I have omitted from my collection. I've also entered a competition to win a trip to Graceland, but I won't win of course.

My only fear is that the awful impersonators will be out in force.

It's said everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news of the death of the King. I was on the car park of Leigh's Manchester Road Inn.

There's been some rubbish written about him, but I was surprised to read recent facts published -- there have been more than a quarter of a million sightings of Elvis since 1977 and his face has been reported miraculously appearing on 6,391 potatoes, 243 floor tiles, 64 tree trunks, 52 facial moles and two human warts.

Which barmpots bothered to record such tosh?
