A GOVERNOR-recruiting body is pumping out a "Your school needs you" message in a bid to boost volunteer levels in Blackburn and Burnley.
The School Governors' One-Stop Shop, a national organisation charged with ensuring there are sufficient volunteers for the vital role, has targeted the towns along with other areas of Lancashire where there are currently more than 100 school governor vacancies.
Steve Aklam, chief executive of the One-Stop Shop, said there was an urgent need for volunteer governors.
It was is one way people could get involved with their community through education.
