THREE East Lancashire business parks are to be given an 'environmental face lift,' thanks to £300,000 of investment.
Enworks, the Northwest Business Support Programme and the European Regional Development Fund is to launch a green business park initiative for three years.
Altham Business Park, Simonstone Business Park and the new Shuttleworth Mead Business Park are all benefiting from the funding.
The scheme is being run by Groundwork Blackburn, Hyndburn First, the Ribble Valley and Burnley Borough Councils, as well as the Environment Agency and representatives from each of the business parks.
The initiative was launched since it is now thought that many estates don't meet the needs of modern businesses due to lack of investment.
A host of different environmental issues will be looked at to help make improvements to the business parks.
Groundworks Environmental Advisor Helena Tinker said they are aiming to make them a better place to be.
She added: "We have been looking at a number of different ideas after consulting with various businesses."
