I SEE the people of Blackburn are now to lose their library (above) because it would appear that after consultation they would prefer to have another learning centre (LET, August 13).
Of course although as a regular user of the library, I have failed to notice any questionnaires or other poll forms, I am sure that councillors would not have made such an important decision without full consultation taking place.
There are already adequate educational facilities in town for anyone who wants to improve their computer or reading skills, but they are under-used, so why do we need another one?
The prime purpose of a library is to provide a resource of reading material, not to act as a school.
