BURNLEY Borough Council has launched a competition which could turn waste paper into money for the winner.
The winner of a prize draw will collect £100. All residents have to do is pick up a form from any council office, fill it in and put it in their next bag of waste newspapers.
The council introduced a kerbside collection service in 2001. Over the past 18 months residents have helped to collect and recycle 2,000 tonnes of newspapers and magazines --the equivalent of 30,000 trees.
