FREE mobile phone marking was on offer at Kwik Save's store at Briercliffe Shopping Centre in Burnley,
Local community beat manager PC Richard Collopy held his first advice surgery from 10am to noon yesterday and used the event to security mark mobile phones.
PC Collopy said the surgeries would give local residents the opportunity to air their fears over crime.
He added: "If anyone is worried about crime levels or simply wants advice on what they can do to help prevent crime then I would urge them to come along -- and perhaps get their mobile phone security marked in the process too."
Residents with specific concerns or information about local crime can also contact PC Collopy by voicemail.
He added: "In order for me to address the area's problems, I need people to come forward and tell me their worries and concerns.
"If people aren't comfortable visiting me at the surgery or simply can't make the date, then they can always contact me by phone. I'm here to help, so please get in touch."
Anyone wishing to contact PC Collopy can call 01282 472964.
