A LACK of summer sunshine and unseasonal downpours failed to put a dampener on this year's Nelson Smallholders' Show.
Prize-winning vegetables were deemed to be some of the best seen by the judges and honours were shared between more of the green-fingered members.
Show organiser Diane Mason said: "The weather this year has been awful for gardeners, but it meant the show was more open.
"People won prizes who would never previously have won them, plus we had more people entered this year than we have ever had. It was a good standard all round, excellent really."
Flower judge George Porter is shown examing prize-winning dahlias.
