POLICE were today continuing to search for the 21-year-old man they wish to interview in connection with a vicious attack on an Accrington father-of-two.
A photograph of Naveed Ahmed of Fountain Place, Accrington, was released by police yesterday in an unusual step to trace him so he can be eliminated from inquiries.
Dennis Shaw, of Kingston Avenue, Accrington, suffered head and facial injuries in an attack outside Imran and Nathan's Snooker and Leisure Club, in Richmond Road, Accrington, on Saturday August 3.
The 33-year-old was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital but has now been transferred to Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn where his head injuries ae being further assessed.
Detective Sergeant Mark Rothwell of Accrington CID said: "Inquiries into this assault are still ongoing and we need to trace and eliminate Mr Ahmed from our inquiries.
"I would ask anybody who knows of his whereabouts to please contact us in confidence."
