WHITEFIELD copper Peter Hilton has come up with an arresting idea to build a new children's hospice.
PC Hilton, who is based at Sedgley Park Police Training School in Prestwich, wants to raise £250,000 to fund a fun holiday home in Bolton for children who are terminally ill.
The 37-year-old, who has raised thousands of pounds for charity by running marathons, is aiming to run in next year's London Marathon.
He has already enrolled the help of a number of stars and secured an autographed guitar from Oasis, worth £2,000, a guitar from Queen musician Brian May and signed videos from Only Fools and Horses actor, David Jason.
The items will feature in an auction at The Last Drop Village, Bromley Cross on November 16.
The Greater Manchester Police band will also stage a concert at Radcliffe Civic Suite on September 26 from 7pm.
Anyone interested in helping raise funds can send an SAE to PC Peter Hilton, Sedgley Park Police Training School, Sedgley Park Road, Prestwich, M25 0JT or contact him on 0161 856 0443.
