WALKDEN took just 30 minutes to complete their Hamer Cup victory over Greenmount at Little Lever last night.

They did most of the damage the previous evening when they reduced the Bury side to 30-5 before bad light stopped play and they completed the job in a matter of overs, bowling Greenmount out for a meagre 47.

It was the third lowest total in a Hamer Cup final but it had more to do with poor batting as much as anything else.

Walkden, to be fair, performed brilliantly in the field, producing some breathtaking catches as Andy Ingram and man of the match Bernard Reidy tempted the Greenmount batsmen into a number of careless strokes.

Reidy finished with figures of 4-20 off his ten overs and Ingram had 4-19 as the champions, who had scored 147 the previous evening, wrapped up the game in double quick time

Walkden now have a chance to make it a cup double as on Sunday they go to Old Trafford to face rivals Kearsley in the MEN knockout final, the first time two Bolton League clubs have met each other to decide who will become the cricket club champions of Lancashire.
