A MUSLIM delegation including representatives from Blackburn were today due to meet the Deputy Prime Minister of India.
The group of four includes Ibrahim Master, chairman of the Lancashire Council of Mosques, and Lord Adam Patel of Blackburn.
The group met Deputy Prime Minister Advani in London, where they will discuss the tension between India and Pakistan and the troubles in Gujarat.
The other members of the delegation include Yusuf Bhailok, of the Muslim Council of Great Britain, and Ismail Lorgat.
Mr Master said: "We'll be expressing our concerns about the atrocities and we will urge Mr Advani to speed up and increase the scale of the relief and rehabilitation work.
"We will also stress that fair elections cannot be held until the state returns to normality and ask why he thinks Muslims threaten the existence of Hindus in India, when they were not a threat during 800 years of Muslim rule."
