THE Worsthorne Village Carnival will take place on Saturday from noon to around 9pm.

It will be a fun day out for all the family and will include live music in front of the Bay Horse, birds of prey, games and fancy dress.

PARISH councillors are concerned that there has been no noticable improvement in policing in the village and that there has been a spate of offences.

They are to seek a further meeting with the Chief Superintendent for Pennine Division to try to get a dedicated police officer for the village.

THERE is a problem with the drains in Church Square. In heavy rain, the water causes flooding. The Highways Authority are to be requested to solve the problem.

THE Parish Council passed a resolution acknowledging the duty placed upon it by the Race Relations (Amendments) Act 2000. The Council resolved to continue within its functions and policies to have due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, promote equality of opportunity and promote racial equality between people of different racial groups.

ALL residents are welcome to join Peter Pike MP at his coffee morning in the Worsthorne Reading Rooms tomorrow from 11am. It will be an opportunity to question him on government policies.
