A POOR defensive display saw Colne suffer their first defeat of the new NWCL Division Two season away to Holker Old Boys.
Despite taking the lead through Carl Barton on 20 minutes and dominating much of the first period, both sides went in at half time all-square after Holker's Paul Southward scored direct from a free kick five minutes before
the interval.
Failing to repeat their first half performance and with the defence looking decidedly shaky, Colne conspired to gift the Barrow side two goals.
At 3-1 there was no way back for Colne whose manager John Lister was less than pleased with his side's performance.
"It was a poor team effort and we must improve or heads will roll," he said. "I told the lads after the game that if they want to be a part of this team, performances like this cannot be repeated.
"We've got a week to look at where things went wrong and I expect better things when we play Castleton Gabriels next Wednesday."
