ROSSENDALE UNITED snatched defeat from the jaws of a UniBond first division victory after throwing away a 1-0 lead in the last seven minutes.
Dale had battled well with Paul Lynch and Knowles commanding the midfield, while the back four coped easily with the Ossett attack.
Ossett's former Chorley man Danny Mills and team mate Beaumont tested Dale keeper Mark Andrews with long-range efforts before Dale deservedly took the lead through Lynch on 29 minutes.
Craig Sargeson had run on to a through ball down the right and squared unselfishly to the midfielder.
Gary Williams was a constant threat with his pace as was Sargeson, who almost doubled the lead with a fierce drive which was saved.
Dale were exposed down the flanks in the final 15 minutes after a double substitution from Ossett.
Andrews pulled off two fine saves before conceding in the 83rd minute. Dale failed to clear a deep cross and Mills forced the ball home.
And in the final minute Aspinall scored Ossett's second to inflict defeat on Dale.
