NELSON continued their good start to the NWCL Division Two season with a comfortable victory over Chadderton.
The Blues took the lead on 19 minutes when Carl Howarth finished off a left-wing build up by shooting low past Lee Grogan.
Nelson should have increased their lead five minutes later but the ball was whipped off the toes of Howarth in front of goal, and Brad Pates could have done better with a header from a Glenn Little cross.
Chadderton were reduced to ten men just before the break when Paul Dean caught Nelson keeper Billy Carrington and he received a second yellow card.
Dave Gray could have had a couple when he went one on one with the keeper - but may feel he shot too soon - and then later sent a header crashing against the bar.
Lee Coldridge came off the bench with 10 minutes to go and was instrumental in the build up to the Blues' second goal when Paul Sconce crossed for Gray to head home.
Late in the game Andy Howarth was red-carded for retaliation after a clash with Craig Doyle, who was booked.
