I WITNESSED Blackburn's one-way system in full flow just after 10am on August 12, when in a cab going home from a town store.
We went round the bus station -- well, we would have except that they were putting temporary cabins under the station veranda, which stopped all traffic.
Vehicles were backed up to Mincing Lane/Darwen Street, Darwen Street itself, and, of course, Railway Road and Salford.
No buses or cars were moving -- nothing was. What a marvellous one way system.
A MONAGHAN (Mr), Lois Place, Blackburn.
