A LONG-term prisoner at HMP Risley has made a donation of his own money to the Daniel Berry Fund, writes Teri Jones.
The prisoner, who's nine-year-old daughter died of leukaemia, makes annual donations to various causes and having read 17-year-old Daniel's story in the Journal decided to donate £50 of the money he earns through serving food and cleaning at the prison to help him.
Elaine Berry, mother of the Atherton leukaemia sufferer said: "It was an unusual request and we had to think about it first. He's serving time for whatever he has done and having lost his own daughter to leukaemia he was obviously moved by Daniel's case."
