PEOPLE are being urged to "bank" some blood next week.
The National Blood Service is appealing to members of the public to support the next blood donor sessions in Bury on Tuesday, August 27, and Thursday, August 29, between 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm and 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, at Church House, The Wylde.
Emma Heesom, Communications officer for the National Blood Service in the North West said: "Every day across the North West area alone over 1,000 donations of blood are needed to make sure that all the patients in hospitals get the life saving treatments they require."
Donors unable to attend the next local blood donor session can call the national Donor helpline on 08457 711711.
