A SOLDIER whose regular duties include guarding the Queen in Buckingham Palace was far from upstanding when he staggered out of a Whalley takeaway in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Darren Neilson was shouting abuse at his girlfriend and transferred his attentions to the police when they intervened.
Neilson, 20, of Garnett Road, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and was fined £95 with £55 costs.
Tom Snape, prosecuting, said the officers saw Neilson leaving a takeaway in King Street with his girlfriend.
They heard him shout at her: "You fat bitch. You don't need a takeaway, you're fat enough already."
Neilson told the court that he was stationed at Chelsea Barracks and that his duties involved guarding Buckingham Palace.
