A JUBILEE ball hosted by Ribble Valley Mayor Joyce Holgate raised nearly £3,000 for charity.
The event, at the Mytton Fold Farm Hotel, Langho, was attended by civic dignitaries from throughout Lancashire, including the Mayors of Blackburn, Burnley, Hyndburn, West Lancs, Chorley and the Fylde, as well as Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans.
Around 180 guests enjoyed a dinner and dance, and a performance by a jazz ensemble from St Augustine's RC School, Billington.
More than £2,000 was raised for Ribble Valley Mayor Joyce Holgate's chosen charities, which are MedAlert and the Ribble Valley Scouts and Guides.
A further £550 was presented to the mayor by Marie and Tony Shaw, of the De Lacy Arms in Whalley, on behalf of regulars, who raised the cash from a series of charity events.
Mrs Holgate said: "It was the first mayor's ball in the Ribble Valley for eight years and an excellent night. I would like to thank everyone who attended, the organisers and the sponsors."
