BUBBLY, chatty and very down-to-earth -- no one would ever guess this 13-year-old popstress had just returned from a sell-out UK tour with Westlife.
By night Lauren Waterworth is a normal teenager, watching TV and gossiping with friends... but by day she is a pop princess recording singles with Pop Idol judge Pete Waterman.
Lauren has dreamt of being a pop star since she was four when she began watching musicals with her grandparents, she grew up entertaining the family at their Hindley home, singing Celine Dion songs into a hairbrush.
Lauren's big break came when she approached Pete Waterman at the age of 11. Although advising her to wait, he saw massive potential and on her 12th birthday Lauren signed a five album deal.
Baby, Now That I've Found You, Lauren's debut single, sold 20,000 copies and climbed to number 24 in the UK charts. Her second single, The Show, is an up-tempo feel good song written by Rick Astley and hits the shops on September 2, followed by her debut album, also called The Show, on September 16.
The album has a pop vibe, but includes a number of ballads which express Lauren's own taste in music.
"I love the divas like Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand and Whitney Houston. I listen to older music as I find it more inspiring. My favourite track on the album is Call It A Day - I love singing that."
A former Rose Bridge High School pupil, Lauren try's to live as normal a life as possible and keeps her feet firmly on the ground.
"My friends are really happy for me -- I'm a bit like batman with two lives!
"It was fantastic touring with Westlife, they were so nice, I've got a picture with them on my wall. It was amazing to sing at such big venues, especially Earl's Court, but I just treat them all the same -- like I'm performing with a hairbrush in my front room."
