MY grandma has been diagnosed with senile dementia and currently attends the day centre at Acorn Lodge three days a week.
She really enjoys going and they keep her busy with activities all day.
My mum has to call in on her twice a day to make sure she takes medication and is eating and without Acorn Lodge both my mum and grandma would be severely disadvantaged, as Acorn Lodge provides grandma with much-needed mental stimulation.
I am sure that my grandma is not the only one in this situation. There must be many others.
If Acorn Lodge closes, along with many others, what are the old people who need care supposed to do? Fend for themselves when it is obvious that they are not capable of so doing?
