A PRESTWICH store has been robbed again.

A man posing as a customer walked into Cunningham's sweet shop in the Longfield Precinct and ordered a 37-year-old female assistant to give him cash from the till.

When the employee challenge the raider, he pointed an object covered in a plastic bag towards her, claiming it was a gun.

The raider escaped with a small amount of cash.

Only three weeks ago, staff were held at gunpoint in a similar robbery.

In the latest raid, the offender is described as white, 6ft tall, slim, wearing a blue tracksuit top with white stripes down the sleeve.

He also matches the description of a man who carried out an armed raid at the Bargain Booze off-licence in Bury New Road, Prestwich, on August 3.

Police are keen to speak to any witnesses to Thursday's (Aug 15) 5.20pm robbery. Whitefield CID can be contacted on 0161 856 8248.
