BRAVE Rosegrove man Sydney Brittain hahad his hair shaved off in front of his supporters at the Railway Club to raise money.
Hopefully, hundreds of pounds will be raised to help an Ashton-Under-Lyne teenager through chemotherapy treatment after he was diagnosed with leukaemia about a month ago.
This is the second time the plucky teenager has had to fight for his life.
He was born prematurely at Hope Hospital, Salford weighting 1lb 10oz and the only survivor of twins.
Mr Brittain is a committee member at the Railway Club where the event took place.
Even though the teenager does not live in Rosegrove he is well known from his regular visits to his family and friends.
LOWERHOUSE Park Bowling Club Random Doubles Competition was won by Mrs Barbara Smith and Mr Peter Cragg.
The runners-up were Mr Arthur Aspden and Mr Mark Samulle.
There were some close games during the competition and all the competitors enjoyed a day's bowling last Sunday.
