BLACKPOOL'S batting was inept and spineless in the Northern Premier League game against Netherfield at Stanley Park on Saturday.

Only Chris Barrow and Stephen Croft, both of whom made 11, reached double figures as Blackpool were hustled out for a measly 53 with the Netherfield bowlers sharing the wickets, Stuart Nixon's 3-14 being the best return.

In reply Netherfield did lose four wickets but were never in any real trouble and with Craig Walmsley making 32 not out, they cruised to victory by six wickets at 55-4 by 4-40pm.

Meanwhile down the coast at Fleetwood, Geoff Love made sure that it was three wins in three games this season for St Annes against Fleetwood.

He took his fourth seven-wicket haul of the season as his 7-40 was instrumental in bowling out the home side for 137. Professional Gulam Bodi made 24 but then only Zac Taylor, 47, supported by a gritty five from Steve Hill, came to terms with Love's off-spin.

Although St Annes lost an early wicket a century partnership between Jack Kelliher, 50, and Love, 71 not out, set up the victory, which arrived by six wickets with the total at 138-4 and with plenty of overs to spare.
