PADIHAM have certainly cured their goal-shyness. Last season Graham Howarth's side struggled to find the back of the net.
But this season, in their opening two games, they have already fired home six goals and hope to add more when they travel to Norton Athletic tomorrow.
"I actually said we were goal-shy and it would be better when Lee Chambers came back. He is back and he hasn't scored a goal yet!" said the Storks chief.
Striker Chambers returned to the Arbories from Kendal last season but broke his ankle and has only just made his comeback.
"He still isn't 100 per cent fit but with him, Ian Pilkington and Dean Stowe it should be a good frontline."
Stowe has scored two goals in their opening two wins but could sit out the next few games with a knee injury.
"Dean had a stop-start season last time, he got married and missed a couple of games, then he was injured.
"But he has been a pro at Hull City so we hope for a lot more from him this season.
"He went in for a challenge on Tuesday night and injured his knee so he will miss a couple of games now.
"We haven't got the biggest of squads but there are a couple from the reserves pushing through."
Howarth is out for revenge tomorrow against Norton.
"They beat us twice in the league and the cup last season so we want a bit of revenge this time.
"We are not looking at the tables yet, though, it is too early but it will start evening itself out after about eight games."
It may be too soon to harbour any hopes of promotion but Padiham are hoping to get the floodlights up and running over the season so, if they are up there, they stand a chance of going up.
