WHAT no one wanted was a start as bad as last season. Well so far the results are identical - one defeat and two draws.

If the similarities continue and it takes us until the sixth game to achieve our first win, then Craig Brown will be under tremendous pressure to change this unpopular 3-5-2 formation.

The manager says that Brazil won the World Cup playing 3-5-2 and that's true, but didn't they have the players to do it?

If we are going to replace the 'wing backs' Edwards and Alexander with players of the calibre Cafu and Roberto Carlos, strengthen the midfield with a player in the Ronaldinho mold, and add strikers on a parr with Ronaldo and Rivaldo then well and good.

But if that's not the case then let's have no more talk of Brazil, lets get back to reality, back to what suits the players at our disposal.

If the manager is going to bring in the players who will make this system successful that's fine, after all haven't we supporters been saying for a while that some of the present squad needed to be replaced!

And will it really matter to most fans what the system is as long as we're winning?

Thing is though, just how far will the board back the manager in his pursuit of new players?
