WHY are the elderly seemingly regarded as non-entities these days?
I worked from the age of 14 to 58 and paid my National Health contributions in the expectation that in my retirement I would be secure. Fortunately I have a caring daughter and no concerns in that regard.
However, that is not the case for all elderly people, many of whom have deteriorating health and are in need of care and support. They are being pushed from pillar to post by people who want to decide how they live their final years. And the attitude seems to be that if the elderly don't like it they can lump it!
Upheaval of the kind caused by the closure of homes for the elderly can shorten a person's life. It is contemptible. Have these people never heard of compassion?
