A PENDLE councillor is putting forward a motion to ask Lancashire County Council to re-think its policy on the closure of care homes for the elderly.
At a meeting of Pendle council on Thursday Councillor Alan Davies will ask for the closures programme to be axed.
The move come after recent announcements that new standards for care homes are to be changed.
Coun Davies said: "The fact that the new conditions will only apply to newly built homes means that the County Council's policy has crashed into the ground."
