FARMERS are urging holidaymakers to help them fight illegal imports of food and plant products.
The National Farmers' Union wants travellers to pop into their local NFU office and pick up a small questionnaire before they go abroad.
The Holiday Watch questionnaire asks what level of food import controls they experienced when they returned to the country.
The NFU has been pressing for tighter controls on imports which come through our air and sea ports since the outbreak of foot and mouth which crippled parts of East Lancashire last year.
Concern has grown that little has been done at our border controls.
NFU offices are at 350 Whalley Street, Blackburn; 28 St George's Street, Chorley; the Ribblesdale Centre, Clitheroe; and Tollgate House, Ramsbottom.
