A WOMAN officer was injured when she tried to put an angry and drunken car smash passenger in a police van.
Burnley magistrates heard Kevin Gamble, 23, who was said to have threatened the other driver and officers, kicked out at the constable, trapping her hand.
The officer suffered soft tissue injury, although there was no break, and a small cut.
Gamble, who later told police he had had ten pints and ten vodkas, could be facing jail after admitting using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and assault causing actual bodily harm, on June 10.
The bench told the defendant, of Lancaster Drive, Padiham, all options would be open, including custody. He was bailed until September 11, for a pre-sentence report.
Christiana Buchanan, prosecuting, said when police arrived, the defendant told them to get the other driver locked up and said his leg was hurt.
He was drunk, shouting and swearing and making officers' jobs far more difficult by his behaviour.
Gamble refused to calm down, was restrained, handcuffed and led away to await the police van.
The defendant was dragging his leg and limping, but still tried to pull away and was shouting: "I have broken my leg."
The defendant said he could not recall the events of the evening before the accident or being handcuffed.
