A NEW ambulance for Rossendale Search and Rescue came a step closer after hundreds of people turned out for a charity fun day in aid of the organisation.
The Holden Arms Tapas Bar hosted the event from 10am to 10pm on its car park in Haslingden.
The aim was to raise between £23,000 and £30,000 to convert a new 4X4 ambulance for the team which uses the pub as a meeting place. They already have a Land-Rover vehicle, but it needs adapting to turn it into a fully operational ambulance.
On the car park there was a fun fair, live bands, a barbecue, bar and bouncy castle.
Graham Roe, of Rossendale Search and Rescue, said: "The day went fantstically well and everyone who came along thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We are all very grateful to all those who helped out and to the Holden Arms who let us have the event here. Their time and generosity are much appreciated."
