BURY fire crews were called to a several car fires during the weekend.
Thieves attempting to steal a car from a back yard in Wellington Street, Radcliffe, deliberately set fire to the Montego Estate after they were unable to move it into the road.
Firefighters were called to extinguish the blaze, which also damaged the gate, at 11pm on Saturday.
Police are investigating two car fires after they were deliberately set alight. Two Ford Escorts were set on fire on Hodder Way, Whitefield, at 3.30am, and at the side of the Metrolink station in Radcliffe at 11.20pm. Both vehicles were destroyed in the incidents. No one was injured.
