POLICE are warning drivers of luxury vehicles to be extra vigilant following an attempted car-jacking.
It follows an attack on a driver by four four-masked men as he tried to get out of his Toyota Lexus on the drive of his home in Danesway, Prestwich, at about 9.30pm on Thursday (Aug 22).
The 46-year-old was kicked in the groin and upper chest in the attack but he refused to hand over the keys to the car and fought back.
The gang eventually gave up and ran off, getting away in a blue of back Toyota or Honda car.
A police spokesman said: "We do not want to alarm drivers. But we are asking them to be a little more vigilant and just carrying out a few checks, such as making sure they are not being followed home."
Anyone with information on the attempted car-jacking should contact Detective Constable Dave Thorpe on 856 8248.
