THE local health watchdog is still very much alive and kicking!
That's the message from Bury Community Health Council following the passage of the NHS Bill through Parliament to reform the system.
Mr Paul Reynolds, chief officer of the CHC, said: "It is not yet clear when the new bodies will be established, consequently as yet their is no firm timetable for the abolition of community health councils.
"It is therefore important that the public in the borough is reassured that they can expect a full and continuing service from Bury CHC right up to the time their responsibilities transfer to the new organisations.
"Patients and the public can continue to expect the best services in Bury."
Bury CHC office is based at 5 The Wylde, Bury. It is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and staff are available to deal with complaints about the NHS, offer help and advice about services.
The council can also be contacted on 761 4524.
