FUNDRAISERS on sponsored walks collected around £10,000 in memory of a teenager who died from a stroke after playing football.
The money will go to Royal Preston Hospital, where 16-year-old David Graham, of the Old Co-Op, Darwen, died in April.
More than 100 people took part in the walks last Sunday which were organised by the landlady of the Duke of York pub, Waterside, Darwen.
Some walked 35 miles to Blackpool Tower from the pub, while others trekked 15 miles from the Old Co-Op to the Royal Preston Hospital.
Friends and family are hoping to raise enough money to buy a new brain scanner at the Royal Preston, which specialises in brain injuries and conditions.
