POOR weather meant fewer entries for Blackburn's annual flower show.
But the event, which took place at St Francis Church, St Francis Road, Witton, still managed to attract more than 200 exhibits in 100 judged categories.
Prizes were on offer in 30 vegetable and fruit classes, plus chrysanthemum, gladioli, dahlia and general flower sections. There were also bonsai, beginners', children's, crafts, and cookery categories.
The event was attended by Blackburn with Darwen's Mayor and Mayoress, Coun Tony Humphrys and Jacqueline Humphrys.
Treasurer for the flower show committee Eric Nutter said: "Despite the adverse weather conditions during the year, the show turned out to be better than expected."
